REGISTRATION PROCESS
- Online registration has closed for all ages for 2008.
- If you do not wish to register online, print and complete the PDF registration form. Seven year olds can specify either t-ball or coach pitch preferences.
- Enclose a copy of your birth certificate.
- Write a check to Lakewood Junior Baseball for the registration fee, or for the registration fee plus fund raising fee.
- Mail the form, check, and birth certificate by January 31, 2008 (age 9-14) or March 15, 2008 (age 5-8) to:

Welcome to Lakewood Junior Baseball and the 2008 season. Lakewood Junior Baseball Association participates in the Jefferson County Junior Baseball League, JCJBL.
Team tryouts for all players ages 9-14 are scheduled for:
Saturday, February 9, 2008
Morse Park, 20th and Carr Street
Ages: 9, 11, and 13
Check in 8 a.m.
Tryouts 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Ages: 10, 12 and 14
Check in at 12 p.m.
Tryouts 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Each player will be contacted and placed on a team within 48 hours after the completion of tryouts.

Rain date: February 16th same location and times.
The regular season will consist of 18 games from roughly April through July.
Registration fees are $165.00 and include a game jersey; t-shirt, baseball hat and socks are provided.
In addition, all players must participate in a league fundraiser or make a $35.00 donation to LJBA in lieu of the fundraiser.
Information for Parents
Every player age 9-14 must attend tryouts with the appropriate age group to be included in the team selection process.
Player's "baseball age" is their age on April 30, 2008.
All 8-year olds will play Coach Pitch in 2008 unless they have been preselected for the Roberto Clemete team or tryout with the 9-year olds and are selected to play on a 9-year-old team. Players are allowed to "play up" one year, at the request of the parents and the acceptance of a coach for the older age team.
(Example, a 5 year old may request to play T-ball with players 6 and 7 years old or a 10-year old can request to play with an 11-year old team).
Any player trying to "play up" should try out with both age groups to protect a fallback position.
There are no tryouts for T-ball and Coach Pitch teams. Players are divided up and assigned to teams – 5 and 6-year olds play T-ball, 7 and 8-year olds play Coach Pitch.
Players/parents may request a specific coach by writing in the special request section of the registration form. Requests will be considered but are not a guarantee of placement.
Ages 10 thru 14 must try out and should indicate whether they are trying out for a higher-level team or desire to return to their 2007 team.
Tee-Ball and Coach Pitch Kids, Ages 5-8
T-Ball and Coach Pitch teams will play approximately 8 games in a May – June season. Players will learn the fundamentals of the game and be prepared to take the next steps in our competitive program.
Registration fees for the season are $75.00 and include a LJBA game shirt, baseball hat, and socks. Each player will provide their own baseball pants, glove, and appropriate shoes.
In addition, each player/family must participate in a league fundraiser or make a $35.00 donation to LJBA in lieu of the fundraiser.
